Good for simple documents

I used LawDepot to create a Residential Lease Agreement. The process was straightforward, and the template covered all the basic clauses I needed. The interface was a bit clunky on my phone, making some selections harder than they should've been. Overall, it got the job done for a fair price after the trial.

Quick Bill of Sale

Needed a Bill of Sale fast. LawDepot had a template. Filled it out, downloaded it. Took maybe 15 minutes. Simple and effective.

Clear instructions, easy to download

I needed a Power of Attorney for my mother and chose LawDepot. The ordering process was smooth, I used the 7-day free trial. Building the document was guided step-by-step with clear explanations for each section. Once finished, I could easily download it as a PDF and print it out. I did have a small question about notarization, and customer support replied within a few hours to clarify. The quality of the document seemed professional, and it was accepted without issue. It really saved me a trip to a lawyer's office for something relatively simple.

I saw a mention of a free trial, is that actually a thing or just like, 'free' but then you immediately get charged? What's the deal?

F Faith S. 1 month ago
It's a real free trial, usually 7 days. Just make sure to cancel before the week is up if you don't want to pay.

Yep, 7 days. I signed up, made my document, downloaded it, and cancelled. No charge, easy peasy.

How do these guys compare to LegalZoom? Trying to figure out which one to use for a small business operating agreement.

A Alex 1 month ago
I found LawDepot to be a bit cheaper and simpler for basic stuff. LegalZoom felt a bit more robust but also pricier.

LawDepot is good if you just need a template and can fill it in yourself. LegalZoom offers more hand-holding, maybe even attorney review, but you pay a lot more for that.

I'm trying to cancel my free trial before I get charged, where do I even go to do that on their site?

D Daisy 1 month ago
You should be able to find it in your account settings, usually under 'Subscription' or 'Billing'. It's pretty straightforward.

Just make sure you cancel before the 7 days are up. I remember it was pretty clear in my account dashboard when I did it.

Do they ever have actual coupon codes for like, a percentage off? Or is it just the free trial thing all the time?

S Sam C. 1 month ago
I've seen some promo codes pop up for annual plans, but they're not super common. Usually, it's just the free week.

Sometimes around Black Friday or New Year's, you might find a code. But mostly, it's the free trial they push hard.

If I get an annual subscription, can I still edit my documents later? Or is it like, once you download it, that's it?

S Shane 1 month ago
You can definitely go back and edit them. I changed my will a few times over the year I had my subscription.

Yeah, you can edit them as long as your subscription is active. It's actually pretty convenient if you need to tweak something.

Anyone know if LawDepot does a military discount? My buddy used Rocket Lawyer and got one there.

R Raj Kaur 1 month ago
I don't remember seeing anything about a military discount when I signed up for my annual plan. I think they mostly push the free trial.

AFAIK, they don't really have specific military discounts like some other sites. Their main deal is usually the free trial or the annual subscription savings.

Hey, thinking about using LawDepot for a residential lease. Is that stuff actually legit for, like, California? Don't want to get screwed.

M Megan 1 month ago
Yeah, I used them for a lease agreement in Florida last year and it was totally fine. They say their docs are state-specific.

I used a will template for Texas and it held up. I think they keep them updated for different state laws, you just gotta make sure you select the right state when you're making it.

I'm thinking about getting a subscription but only need one document right now. Is it better to just buy one or do the whole annual thing?

W Wendy F. 2 months ago
If you only need one, try the 7-day free trial, download it, and then cancel. That's what I did for a simple NDA.

F Faith Silva 2 months ago
The annual subscription usually saves you a lot if you plan to use them for multiple documents throughout the year. But for just one, the trial is probably your best bet if you can get it done in a week.
